KMS Drifting, Test -N- Tune and Grudge Racing
* Front parking lot will be sectioned off for the drifting and the drag strip will be open for test -n- tune and grudge racing. $20 spectator entry fee, $10 to drag race and free to drift.

For almost 40 years, the Legendary Darlington Dragway has hosted numerous drag racing events from weekly Grudge TNT to IHRA Summit Super Series points races to The Winter Nationals events that have featured drag racing legends such as "Big Daddy" Don Garlits, "The Bud King" Kenny Bernstein, John Force & many others.
There is a reason Darlington Dragway has been awarded 2012 IHRA Division 2 Pro-Am "Track of the Year". This season features a full schedule of events such as weekly Grudge TNT events every Wednesday night, 16 IHRA Summit Super Series points races, IHRA Labor Day Pro-Am event, Total Domination Pro-Mod event, Saturday Night Thunder, Quick 8 Outlaws Pro-Mod Tour, East Coast Grudge events, Mustang Week Shootout, Mopar Week Shootout, The Palmetto Nationals / IHRA Ironman Classic, Carolina Class Racers Series, Top 8 Doorslammers, Dixie Outlaw Doorslammers, Pure Power Performance Grudge Fest Bike Tour and many more.

Darlington Dragway IHRA Division 2 Pro-Am Track of the Year
During the 2012 IHRA Summit Super Series Bracket Finals at Carolina Dragway, The Legendary Darlington Dragway was presented with "IHRA Division 2 Pro-Am Track of the Year". Darlington Dragway would like to thank all of our racers, track employees, event promoters and other supporting members on making this possible.
Also during the 2012 IHRA Summit Super Series Bracket Finals at Carolina Dragway, Darlington Dragway received "Best Team Banner Award" representing Team Darlington, "Best Appearing Jr Dragster" driven by Jordon Baker & "Best Engineered Full Body Car" owner by the Miller Racing Team. A big congratulations to Team Darlington Dragway on representing Darlington Dragway at 2012 IHRA Summit Super Series Bracket Finals at The House of Hook.

2012 IHRA Pro-Am Labor Day Weekend Event
With the 2012 Summit Racing Equipment Pro-Am Tour presented by AMSOIL season winding to a close, all of the heavy hitters were on hand at The Legendary Darlington Dragway over the weekend as car counts were considerably up for the Division 2 Heat Wave season finale. Featuring a Labor Day triple-header, Darlington Dragway hosted its regularly scheduled Pro-Am points meet plus the rained out race from Carolina Dragway which produced a great weekend of racing.

2 New Special Events Coming In 2013
From the creators & organizers of The Myrtle Beach Bike Week events comes 2 special events starting in 2013. In the Spring, The Southeastern Nationals/IHRA Ironman Classic will take place April 12, 13 & 14, 2013. This event will include an IHRA Ironman Classic featuring Top Eliminator, Modified & Jr Dragster classes, motorcycle racing, car & bike show, onsite vendors, live entertainment, and much more. Just one drawn out weekend of racing action & entertainment.
In the Fall, The Southeastern Nationals Holloween Classic featuring The Quick 8 Outlaws will be October 25, 26 & 27, 2013 This event will include a "Big Money" bracket race featuring The Quick 8 Outlaws Pro Mods, Top Eliminator, Modified & Jr Dragster classes, motorcycle racing, onsite vendors, live entertainment, and much more. More information will be release on these later this year.

The New Quick 8 Outlaws Series for 2012
The Quick 8 Outlaws are proud to announce that they and Tommy Mauney Race Cars have formed a partnership for the 2012 season. At each race at the legendary Darlington Dragway the top qualifier will receive the Tommy Mauney Race Cars number one qualifier award.

| The Polburn's Perfect Package Prize
The International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) is pleased to announce a new program for racers who record a perfect package at an IHRA track in 2012. Any racer who records a perfect package at an IHRA track between January 1st and December 1st of 2012 will be entered into a drawing to win a prize package that includes free membership for one year, one car and driver entry to any Nitro Jam event, IHRA decals, patches, flags, hats and other various goodies. The winner be selected at random on December 3, 2012.
All racers have to do is follow these easy steps and they will be eligible for the new program awarded to flawless racers across North America. Read more...

| History of IHRA Drag Racing & Area Tracks
IHRA founder Larry Carrier was instrumental in the construction of both Rockingham and Darlington International Dragways. In this photo work is progressing at Darlington under the watchful eyes of Harold Brasington, builder of the Darlington NASCAR track. At one time IHRA had the best tracks in drag racing. Bristol Dragway, Rockingham Dragway and Darlington Dragway were state-of-the-art facilities, better than anything the NHRA had. Even what Indianapolis had. Read more... | |
